The guiding force of my professional life is to find ever more effective ways for my clients to overcome obstacles, resolve conflicts and meet their challenges resourcefully for a more rewarding life.

I maintain a ResSolution-oriented, individualized approach to personal and relationship concerns, focused on eliciting a person’s or couple’s strengths and resources in helping them to achieve their desired goals. People are unique, so strategies for change must be tailored to each person’s specific situation, needs, values and lifestyle goals.

Thus common difficulties (listed below) such as anxieties, self-defeating habits and behaviors, relationship struggles or the challenges of career and relocation are treated in an uncommon, pragmatic and co-operative manner.

As I have resided in Hong Kong since 1991, I am well aware of how the ex-pat life in particular, while remarkably interesting and exciting, can be especially challenging to both singles and couples. The personal and professional adjustment demands, rapid pace, saturated social schedules, frequent and unpredictable travel demands, can easily lead to a sense of being chronically over-scheduled and under-connected. Add time famine and the absence of familiar supports, and stress and loneliness can escalate. A therapeutic approach fashioned to address these concerns can be a liberating catalyst to a more rewarding overseas experience.

I assume most people have stored within them most or all of the abilities, strengths and potentials necessary to resolve their difficulties, overcome obstacles and achieve self-enhancing change.

Cultivating these abilities in a relatively short amount of time is a hallmark of my work. And although

short-term, my therapy has proven to be a liberating process of self-discovery for many of my clients, expanding their knowledge, choices and how they view their world and their participation in it.
