About Oxfam

Oxfam Hong Kong is an independent development and relief agency based in Hong Kong. LogoOXFAM was the telegraph address for Oxford Committee for Famine Relief which was founded in England back in 1942 to provide aid to Greece during World War II. Since 1976, Oxfam Hong Kong has supported projects in more than 60 countries/administrative regions, including Hong Kong.The Oxfam logo (in effect since 1999) reflects our beliefs and work. Composed of a person's head and shoulders, the logo re-presents the people we work for and with. It expresses the message that we put people first. The three semi-circles are linked to show that Oxfam works in partnership with people, not in a top-down approach. Green is the colour of growth and renewal. And do you see the letters 'O' and 'X' ?
Strategy Oxfam Hong Kong seeks lasting change through long-term development programmes, policy advocacy and public education. We work in partnership with poor people in our developoment initiatives as well as in our emergency response to disasters. Our goal is to enhance people's capacity to improve their own lives, to gain better access to resources and to enable them to get out of poverty.
