URBIS was established in Hong Kong in 1977 and has since undertaken over 1,500 planning and design projects in the Asia Pacific region, South Asia and the Middle East.
URBIS employs approximately 100 staff in offices in Hong Kong (head office), Manila, Shanghai and Dubai. Several of the staff have been with the Company since its inception. All key staff are experts in their own fields with a dedication to produce products of the highest calibre. Professions represented within the company include Landscape Architects, Planners, Architects, Urban Designers, Horticulturists, CAD and IT specialists and Graphic Designers.
PLANNING projects have included new town planning studies; strategic landscape planning and recreation studies; planning studies for major reclamation projects; urban renewal studies; preparation of urban design parameters and guidelines; master-planning of residential and mixed use developments; planning studies for railway line routing and associated rail-related property development; planning studies for the routing of overhead power lines through sensitive rural environments; hotel, resort and golf development master-planning; 'greening' feasibility studies; and planning applications for private developers in accordance with appropriate town planning legislation.
