Jennifer Chau, the founder of Chau Studio Ltd, has a gifted eye and a passion for photography that is revealed in all of her subjects, which range from fine antiques and jewellery to food, travel and portraiture.
Jennifer first developed an interest in cameras at the age of twelve. Together with her interest in art and Chinese painting, this led her to pursue a career in photography.
After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography at the Art Centre College of Design in Pasadena, California, she moved to Vancouver B.C., where she set up her first studio. Five years later, Jennifer returned to Hong Kong and quickly gained a reputation for outstanding work among her clients.
Jennifer’s dedication to creative excellence can be seen in all of the images she captures. Shooting reflective objects is particularly challenging, and lighting is the key to bringing out the texture, depth and beauty of her subjects. In many ways, Jennifer’s manipulation of light can be compared to the way artists use paint to create works of art on canvas.
