This programme is designed to develop students' overall spoken fluency. It is suitable for those who need to speak English at work or in daily life and is good for employees from different job types such as sales assistants, clerical staff, junior shipping clerks, and hotel and catering workers.
Objectives
Upon completion of the programme, students should be able to:
- develop their English listening and spoken strategies;
- improve their English oral communication skills at work; and
- master the English language skills (listening and speaking) to sit for the benchmarking test such as ELSA and a pass in the test together with the completion of this whole programme are required for Continuing Education Fund reimbursement.
Who Should Attend
Anyone who has Form 3 to Form 4 English level and would like to improve his/her oral English.
Assessment
Students are required to have an overall pass in each course assessment which consists of Continuous Assessment (in the form of assignments, case study, presentation and test etc.) and Examination. The passing mark is 50%.
Award
A “Certificate in Spoken English” will be issued by LiPACE to those who have successfully completed the programme.
