OPAL - AN INTRODUCTION
It is said that opal is one of stones preferred by most women, and is easy to coordinate with clothing.
Natural opals are prone to cracks, so there is demand in the market for a stable supply of good quality opal for jewellery. Due to the structure of the gem, there are limitations with the design, so until now, it tended to be a standardized monotonous product as a fashion item compared to other jewellery.
The created opal allows a wide range of designs, and since it has a beautiful hue and translucence at the same time, it provides diverse expressions as jewellery.
ABOUT OPAL
Most gems are minerals consisting of crystal, but opal is amorphous, having no crystal structure. Natural opals are formed through deposition in underground layers rich in silicon dioxide (SiO2). Millions and millions of minute particles of silicon dioxide containing a little moisture are closely packed and aligned, and then hardened in a certain sequence just as jelly sets, to form an opal. The opal's unique, iridescent sparkle results form the correlation between the sequence and light of the particles.
FEATURES OF THE CREATED OPAL
The created opal has almost the same chemical. physical, and optical characteristics as those of natural opal made by hydrothermal solutions in the earth.
1. Play of Color
The charm of opal is the iridescent prism. which appears in the stone as if a variety of colors, such as blue, green, red and purple, were interacting with each other. This phenomenon is called "play of color", which happens as light is refracted and reflected through the regularly-arranged structure of minute particles.
2. Transparency
An important element of the beauty is a balance between the transparency of the minute particles that create the refraction and refraction of light and the play of color made by the prism of light. Normally, the greater the transparency, the less the play of color, but the Created Opal has the two contrary elements and provides sparkles of high quality.
3. High Quality
The created opal is more weather-resistant than natural opal and has almost none of the internal inclusions found in natural stones, featuring a high level of quality. The surface can be polished so smoothly because of the splinterless, high quality opal created.
