KANO Ceramic Tile Co. is a manufacturer of glazed tiles, having history over 45 years in Tajimi, one of the cities known as manufacturing centres of Minoyaki.

We have acquired the know-how to manufacture many custom-made items since our establishment. With skills supported by tradition and a brand-new sense, we meet diversified needs.

Of late we started the business of mending tiles for renovation, aiming at producing tiles to make apartments and houses durable enough to live in safely even 100 years after.

Not only utilizing thus the traditional art of the proud Minoyaki, we have been challenging to create and develop the brand-new, cutting-edge products as well.

World's first product 'Tile + Light' is the latest example. We are making effort to produce highly functional and eco-friendly tiles, like 'Cool Island Tiles' and 'CT Self-cleaning Tiles'.

Besides, we also address the exhaustion of limited ceramic resources on earth. We adopted a model of recycling system composed of companies dealing with materials, those dealing with glazes and those producing ceramic products, we reuse clay without disposing of industrial waste.

From traditional to innovative, developing new tiles and new market is our mission and we will always try to come up with creating ideas about the future of ceramic tiles.

Kano Ceramics Xo., in collaboration with Korean product designer Hyomi Kim, have created Tile + Light, a customizable lighting system that allows the user to create desired patterns on tiled walls and ceilings, Tile + light is a series of four differently configured light fittings. Their modular configurations enable the user to arrange them in relation to a particular environment or according to the user's preference without exposed cables or difficult wiring. Tile + light is excellent as a decorative feature in public spaces such as parks or pools. They serve as a guide light for corridors and exits, rooms, stairways, showrooms and public spaces.
