The Hong Kong Institute of Professional Photographers (HKIPP)was founded in mid 1987 with the aim to enhance professionalism and encourage creativity among Hong Kong photographers. Since then our membership has more than doubled. We the only association that represents professional photographers in Hong Kong. All our members must demonstrate that they have reached a sufficiently high professional standard and experience in order to join our association. The HKIPP co-operates with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Arts Centre, Technical Institutes and major equipment & suppliers to hold meetings and seminars to discuss professional and technical issues.
The HKIPP Awards Competition was held biennially since 1993. This Competition stimulates creativity and "pushes the envelope: of the technical expertise of our members. To ensure fairness, world renowned photographers and critics from overseas are invited to be the adjudicators.
