Introduction
The mission of Hong Kong Institute of Marketing (HKIM) is to promote the practice of marketing with the highest standards and ethics. HKIM is committed to providing education and training in marketing and to advancing Hong Kong as a leading centre of marketing excellence in the Asia Pacific region. HKIM education programmes provide the route to professional recognition.
Aims
The HKIM education programme aims to help its participants develop academic, technical and managerial knowledge and skills in marketing.
Graduates of the programmes should be able: :
To develop analytical and problem solving skills for continuing professional development or further studies.
To take up executive and managerial responsibilities, for example, to plan, organize, and control marketing operations efficiently in a professional manner.

Each module consists of 10*3 hours of lecture and seminar sessions. Courses are offered in the evenings, with attendance once per week for 10 weeks, and most modules are offered three terms per year.
Entry Requirements
" 2 passes in the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) or equivalent; or
" 5 passes in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) or equivalent plus 2 years' relevant work experience; or
" Aged 23 or above with no less than 3 years' relevant work experience Teaching Mode
All modules will be delivered face-to-face by qualified guest speakers of the respective institutions, HKIM and professional experts in the industry.
Assessment
The assessment is a mix of final examination and continuous assessment which may include group projects, case presentations and course work assignments.
Award of Certificate
The Certificate/Professional Certificate in Marketing will be awarded jointly by the respective institutions and HKIM. For the award of the appropriate certificate, student must:
Attend at least 80% of the face-to-face lecture sessions Pass the relevant examinations Complete the prescribed continuous assessment and satisfy the requirements
Professional Recognition
Students who have enrolled in HKIM education programmes will automatically be granted student membership of HKIM. Student members will receive the Institute's monthly e-Newsletter, Direction and join the lunch/dinner talks, activities, seminars and workshops at a member's rate.
