The Hong Kong Film Archive is presenting two films adapted from Jin Yong’s work Sword and the Sabre as contribution to the 6th Hong Kong Literature Festival. We can see how texts are miraculously transformed into images in both the Cantonese version from the 60's and the Mandarin version from the 70's. Adaptations from different periods also reflect the characterstics of the decades concerned.
