Teaching Note for your reference

Books for student:

1.      Alfred’s Basic Adult Piano Course Lesson Book Level One

3.       Piano Lesson made Easy Book Two

4.      A Line A Day Sight Reading By Jane Smisor Bastien

Part one:

1.      Sitting position

Part two:

1.      Explain how to use pedal (Feet has to be near the pedals)

2.      Play a song by using right hand, left hand and both hand(With pedals) 

3.      Teach the student how to count the beat (1 and 2 and 3 and 4)

-          Articulation( The technique - Staccato)

-           Teacher’s demonstration: play and tell the student to listen to the songs and teach them to clap the beat (It is important to bring out the melody)

-          You will hear (fast, short and disconnected sounds in this piece)  

-          Point out the note if they played wrong

Part three:

1.      To prepare for the next piano exam ( the skills of sight- reading) 

2.      Which part of this piece looks difficult?

3.      Try to keep the beat steady while playing the pieces

4.      Pay attention on key signature and articulation(e.g. Staccato, slur and tie)

Part four:

1.      Ask questions such as: How do you think about your playing? Was it better this time?

2.      Homework for students: Practice 15- 30 minutes a day and revise these training exercises will greatly improve your piano music sight reading skills

3.      To practice and study piano- play five-finger exercises, scales and spend time on practicing the pieces everyday
