Music has been such a force in Dianne Elise's life that she named her beloved Westie “Apollo”, otherwise known as the god of music. Dianne received her formal voice education through several music groups, beginning with her grade school choir. She also joined other more selective choirs that would go on to sing at The White House, Lisner Auditorium, and Kennedy Center. By the time she was 11 years old, she was accepted into a highly selective Performing Arts and Magnet School in Maryland, where she majored in Chorus. The choral groups she joined received numerous awards and earned the best ratings in competitions. But her extra-curricular activities did not compromise her performance in school. From grade school all the way up to college, she was either on the honor roll or the dean's list. In middle school she received the President's Award for Educational Excellence from President Bill Clinton. Later on she earned a place in Who's Who Among American High School Students, awarded only to 5% of the entire nation's high school students. When Filipino legends like Jose Mari Chan, Rey Valera, Piilita Corales, and Ogie Alcasid toured the US, Dianne opened their shows in the East Coast. She also opened for the international recording group Kai. Before she left the United States to return to the Philippines, she recorded the indie album “Let It Fall” with James Levy and gave her last performance in Washington, DC at the Philippine Independence Festival at the renowned Freedom Plaza.
In 2007, Dianne took on a new project that had her go back to the roots of music, performing modern standards with a mix of jazz and R&B. Her debut album “Now & Then” exemplified this blend of the old and new. Her first two singles “You're The Inspiration” and “Swept Away” enjoyed heavy airplay on radio stations and positions in the Top Ten charts. Wave 89.1 was the first to pick up on the young singer and called her “an Angel who is an embodiment of talent and grace.” Since then she was given her own radio show called Vintage Soul. It airs every Wednesday night at 8:15 PM. Last year, audiences were able to catch her on Philippine television shows, at ABS-CBN’s famed variety show ASAP when she sang her second single “Swept Away” with Piolo Pascual; GMA’s Walang Tulugan, Studio 23’s SBX, and QTV’s The Good Night Show.
Dianne just finished wrapping up a slew of radio tours and mall shows all over the Philippines. She was only able to catch her breath for a short while and then she started her sophomore album released latter part of 2008, Committed, under MCA Music International, with the carrier single, “If You’re Not the One.” Then the whole process of promoting the CD on TV, radio takes over. There is no doubt that she is only at the start of her long illustrious career and we will be hearing more from this young, spellbinding singer.
