Schools can be eiher single sex or mixed:

Boys and girls tend to get slightly better examination results at single sex schools. Single sex schools usually have links with a nearby school with pupils of the opposite sex, so that the children can take part in some activities, such as music or drama, or for some less popular academic subjects. However, you might think that a mixed school offers a more natural environment child for your child.
