Friends Junction Dance Company
‘Dance To Express, Not To Impress’
Friends Junction Dance Company (FJDC) is committed to instilling our students with the best dance education in a friendly environment, as well as providing them with valuable performance opportunities. We feature a wide range of dance styles including Hip Hop, Breaking, Jazz, Jazz Funk and Popping. Our instructors are young yet experienced, enthusiastic and professional. Students are encouraged to express and embrace their individuality through dancing.
Heading the faculty are Kenny Ng and Winnie Man, directors and founders of FJDC and two of the few choreographers and teachers in Hong Kong who have overseas choreographing, teaching and performing experience. Kenny and Winnie's recent work is their choreography and performance for Wynn Macau, featuring a group of fascinating female dancers in glamorous costumes; and for Urban Dance Festival, a large-scale event promoting dancing in the Hong Kong urban landscape. Kenny and Winnie were also honored to be choreographers for international artists BLUSH, an Asian female group that was formed at the PROJECT LOTUS talent search. Also part of the faculty is Bboy Wilkie, one of the top bboys in Hong Kong who has won countless Break Dance competitions including international ones. FJDC actively participates in different forms of competitions, stage shows and community performances, providing students with regular performance opportunities.
FJDC is not only a dance studio but also a family of dancers of all ages, styles and levels. Students are nurtured, encouraged and inspired in a friendly and supportive environment where they make lifetime friendships through dancing. That is why we are called Friends Junction Dance Company.
FJDC offers open classes for all ages and levels, kids' classes (3-9 years), performance courses, training programs, international workshops, and scholarships. We also provide private classes, training courses, choreography and performances for charity organizations, companies and schools.
FJDC introduces a program ‘Equality to Dance’, in which we co-operate with different community centres and schools. The aim of this program is to offer an opportunity to young people who otherwise cannot afford to take regular dance classes due to economic problems. We welcome any organizations and schools to join or sponsor us.
