This Advanced Certificate Programme is designed to suit both secondary 5 school-leavers and graduates of LiPACE’s “Intermediate Certificate in Practical English”.
Objectives
Upon completion of the programme, students should be able to:
* Understand and interpret spoken English as it might be encountered in academic and vocational situations;
* Write clear and concise English in an appropriate style;
* Demonstrate both global and detailed understanding of a variety of written texts;
* Understand and use spoken English for practical communication;
* Integrate reading and writing skills in the pursuance of task-based / problem-solving activities; and
* Master the four English language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) to sit for the English Benchmark tests. A pass in the test is required for Continuing Education Fund reimbursement.
Who Should Attend
It is designed to suit both secondary 5 school-leavers and graduates of the “Intermediate Certificate in Practical English”.
Assessment
Students are required to have an overall pass in each course assessment which consists of Continuous Assessment (in the form of assignments, presentation and test etc.) and Examination. The passing mark is 50 %.
Award
An “Advanced Certificate in Practical English” will be issued by LiPACE to those who have successfully completed the programme.
