Objectives
Upon completion of the whole programme, students should be able to:
- Combine different colors, shapes, textures and lighting in harmony into one space;
- Possess knowledge in art and design to make good assessments and comments;
- Possess drawing skills so as to convert ideas into drawings;
- Possess professional knowledge in professional regulations and limitations, construction skills, construction structure and materials, and other relevant legal knowledge;
- Express themselves well, both verbally and in writing, to ensure smooth cooperation with different working partners such as suppliers and manufactures.

Assessment
Course assessment is based on the submission of worksheets / Tutor-Marked Assignments (TMA) and a Final Test. The Final Test requires students to put into practice the skills which have been acquired over the course to produce a portfolio of drawn and written work to professional standards in answer to a number of design questions.
Award
The Diploma will be issued by RHODEC International, UK to whose who have successfully completed the programme.
Professional Recognition / Advanced Standing
RHODEC Diploma in Interior Design and RHODEC Associate Diploma in Interior Design is Nationally accredited of the following association:
- Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) in the US,
- Open and Distance Learning Quality Council (ODLQC) in the UK
- European Association for Distance Learning (EADL) in Europe.
Upon completion of the programme, graduate may:
- Use the designation RIDipl, RIDipl(Merit) or RLDipl (Dist) as appropriate.
- Apply for memberships of various professional bodies, including Affiliate Membership of the Hong Kong Designers Association, Junior Associate Membership of the British Interior Design Association, student Membership of the American Society of Interior Designers and the International Interior Design Association;
- Be accepted into the second or third year of study of bachelor programmes in the United Kingdom.
Admission Policy
In line with the “open” nature of the university, there are no formal academic entry requirements for this programme and it is open to everyone. However, applicants may find the programme difficult if they have not achieved Form Five English level or its equivalent.
OTHERS
- This programme is included in the reimbursable course list for CEF purpose.
- Only soft copies of course materials will be provided to students.
- This is an exempted course under the Non-local Higher and Professional Education (regulation Ordinance and it is a matter of discretion for individual employers to recognizes any qualifications to which the course may lead.
