Course Description
This programme is jointly designed by HKU SPACE and the Hong Kong Sea Transport and Logistics Association (HKSTLA) for those who are engaged in junior to middle level operational roles in the sea transport and logistics industry. It is also suitable for individuals at all levels from other industries, who wish to advance their conceptual understanding and career progression in the programme-related areas.

Lecture Schedule
8 months (minimum); 2 - 3 evenings sessions a week and possible weekends, 7:00 - 10:00pm for weekday, 2:30 - 5:30pm for weekend
There are 4 modules, each with 10 weeks of study:
Term I
Principles of Logistics and Distribution Management
Introduction to Supply Chain Management
Term II
Introduction to Sea Freight Operations
Business Economics
- Assessment for each of the 4 modules will be based on one assignment/project and a final examination. In general, the performance grade for the examination and assignment/project varies accordingly to individual module. The overall pass mark is 50%.
- There are 3 intakes in a year, in January, May and Septemeber
- Upon successful completion of the programme (pass all 4 modules), students will be awarded a Certificate in Business Logistics (Sea Transport and Logistics) by HKU SPACE.
- Upon successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded a Certificate in Business Logistics (Sea Transport and Logistics) by HKU SPACE and a Certificate in International Logistics and Sea Transport by HKSTLA. Students who have more than one year relevant working experience will be eligible to apply for Associate Membership of HKSTLA. Entry Requirements
Applicants should
* Have gained in the HKCEE Grade E in four subjects, and Level 2 in English language*; AND
* have at least two years full-time work experience in logistics, transport, or business related areas.
Applicants with other equivalent qualifications and relevant work experience will be considered on individual merits.
With effect from 2007, HKU SPACE recognizes Grade E previously awarded for Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) (Grade C in the case of English Language (Syllabus A)) at HKCEE as an acceptable alternative to Level 2 in these two subject at HKCEE.
