** David started his cello lessons with GE Wu at the age of fifteen when he was admitted to the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Junior Music Programme. He then studied cello performance with Ray WANG when he entered the Music Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong where he graduated in 1995. His cello playing has also been inspired by WONG Wai-ming, the founding concertmaster of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. In the past two decades, David has performed in Argentina, Brazil, France, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Uruguay, as well as in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China. He has been a soloist with the Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra and is now a member of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta.
David worked at the Music Office of the Leisure & Cultural Services Department as an Assistant Music Officer while he was also a part-time instructor at the Hong Kong Institute of Education. Since his graduation from CUHK, David has been giving private cello lessons and teaching instrumental classes at various primary and secondary schools as well as conducting youth orchestras.
