Introduction
With the Multimedia technology, a static image or advertisement can be converted into an interactive and animated one. These new media formats draw the customers closer to the companies. It is an effective tool in capturing and retaining customers' interest, and ultimately leading to more sales. It also opens the door for global publicity for any business. A refreshing impression is attained by adding audiovisual elements of multimedia to an online advertising campaign. This makes the viewer feel connected emotionally with the company and products/services.
As an illustration for an industrial sector application, the range of multimedia applications can range from demonstration of functionalities of plant and machinery to troubleshooting, training and so on. Multimedia converts a static image or advertisement into an interactive and animated one. The advantage of showing movement and sound along with visual effects has a great impact on sales and marketing.
Graduates of the programme may have a range of career opportunities. These include graphic design, product or equipment marketing, computer modeling & animation, Web page design, digital video editing, desktop publishing, advertising design, publication and magazine, and graphic arts for corporate communications and Internet Advertising through computerized/or traditional means.
ObjectivesUpon completion of the programme, students will be able to: (a) Understand the basics of advertising and marketing(b) Understand the multimedia technology and fundamentals(c) Demonstrate adequate knowledge in running multimedia projects(d) Have comprehensive hands-on experience in multimedia content development(e) Manage a multimedia advertising campaign or project(f) Perform to current industry standards
