坐月時宜多進食母雞湯、蒸蛋、豆腐製品、鯽魚、鯉魚、薏仁、紅糖、紅棗、糯米酒雞蛋等。 忌吃生冷食物,更不要吃隔夜飯菜。多吃新鮮水果,但偏涼性果菜則最好避免,如冬瓜、椰子水、楊桃汁、西瓜、梨子、大白菜、橘子、葡萄柚、醃黃瓜、哈密瓜、竹筍、白蘿卜、茄子等等。大熱天坐月時可吃些消暑食物,產婦出汗多、口渴時,可以進食綠豆湯、番茄和水果消暑。
