88DB requires its members to adhere to its Post Posting Guidelines in order to ensure
a pleasant online experience for everyone. Any member who fails
to comply with the guidelines listed below would be dealt with a suspension of his
or her posting and/or 88DB membership.
- Improper language: Foul, obscene, offensive, tasteless or otherwise inappropriate
language in your member profile and Posts is not allowed.
- Sexual material: No adult-rated, nudity, sexually offensive or pornographic images/photos/graphics/video/audio will be tolerated.
- Flaming content: You may not post content that is defamatory, threatening, harassing,
abusive, racist, discriminating or otherwise objectionable.

1.4 How do I register?
To create an 88DB.com account, you will need just one minute to fill up our registration form. It’s FREE & simple.
1.5 Which type of 88DB membership is right
for me?
88DB offers two different types of membership: Individual or Organization. Individual
Accounts are for individuals while Organization Accounts are for organizations,
companies, clubs or societies.
1.6 What is a Display Name?
Your display name is what other members see and how they identify you. It appears
on your member profile and your Posts. You can change your display name by updating
your member profile and the change will be reflected in all your previous and new
postings.
1.7 Why should I verify my Email address after
registration?
After you have registered with 88DB, you will be sent a welcome email with an email
verification link. You will need to click on this link to complete your registration.
This is to ensure that the email address which you have provided is valid and working;
and that you are the holder of this email account. Without verification of your
email address, you will not be able to login, publish your Posts, contact other
members or nor receive User Enquiries and important emails from 88DB such as Posting
Confirmation and Post Status Notification.
1.8 I’ve registered with 88DB and provided
a valid email address. However, I didn't receive my activation email. Why is this
so & what should I do?
If you are using a web-based email service such as Hotmail or Yahoo Mail, please
ensure that the filters do not mark our emails as spam. Please check the "Junk E-Mail"
or "Bulk" option. Alternatively, log into your “My88DB”
account and request for another activation email.
1.9 How do I know if my email address has been
verified?
Upon registration, you will receive an email asking you to verify your email address.
Once you have clicked on the verification link found in the email, it will lead
you to a web page confirming your email address.
2. Adding a Post
2.1 Is there any charge to add a Post on 88DB?
As long as you have not exceeded our Ad Posting Limit, it costs you nothing to post your Posts on 88DB.
2.2 How many Posts can I add?
Due to the Ad posting limit, you can publish maximum 2 Posts which are relevant to your selected categories. To get extra
quota, please click here to contact our Customer Service Department to upgrade your service plan.
2.3 How do I add a Post?
- Click on the “Post a FREE Ad” link on the navigation bar
- Step 1: Select Category & Post Type (Offer or Want)
- Step 2: Enter Post Details

3.1 Which category should I pick?
We have 26 main categories. Please choose an appropriate main category and sub-category for your post.
3.2 Can I add a Post in several categories?
Yes. You can add your Post in several categories as long as they are relevant and
appropriate.
3.3 What if I can't find an appropriate category
for my Post?
Here in 88DB, we always strive to shape our service portal to meet your needs. Do
send us an email at [email protected] or fill in the
“Submit New Category” field on the homepage to suggest any new categories.
3.4 I'm placing a Post but the chosen category
is identical to another category (e.g. Lesson & Instruction > Design and Design
> Lesson & Instruction). What should I do?
The existence of identical categories provides you with a multi-edge platform to
reach your target customers. Logically, this will only generate more exposures for
you.
3.5 What Post types are available? What are
Offer and Want Posts?
88DB provides interactions of Post postings between Individuals and Organizations.
You ca Post either an Offer or a Want Post to fit your needs.
- Offer Post
- a Post to provide or promote a service, product or talent
- Want Post
- a Post to request or find a service, product or talent
3.6 I'm placing a Post but its type is neither
“Offer” nor “Want”. What should I do?
"Announcement & Messages" and "Dating & Friendship" are the only categories that
cannot fit appropriately in either Offer or Want types. It is recommended that users
choose “Offer” for these categories.
3.7 I published a Post in the wrong category.
How can I move it?
You can login to My88DB
and select a new subcategory for your Posts in “My Posts” .
4. Post Content / Details
4.1 Why is the Post Title so important?
Because it is the first thing that captures the viewer's attention! Moreover, it
will be indexed first by our search engine when any user typed in his or her keywords
to search for Posts. So, always make sure your Post Title is precise yet interesting.
4.2 Any tips for creating a great Post?
We have some suggestions to help you to create a great Post:
- Post Title
- Post Title is the most important part of your Post. Make it attractive to capture
the viewer's attention at his or her first glance.
- The title is what our search engine will index first when users run keyword searches.
Think of words which people may use to search and try to include them in your title.
- Post Description
- Be descriptive. Give the viewers clear, complete and concise information.
- Do include photos and multimedia content, whenever possible.
- Clearly and honestly represent what is being offered.
- Describe the benefits of your item or service.
4.3 Is there a character limit for each Post?
Yes, the Post Title is limited to 100 characters while the limit for Post Description
is 5,000 characters. The Post Title and the first 80 words of the Post Description
will be extracted and displayed in search results.
4.4 I don’t have a specific price for the service
I offer. What should I put for price?
You can just leave the “Price” field blank and select “Not Specified” from the drop-down
list.
4.5 Which price option should I choose?
88DB offers a Post posting platform for a variety of services, implying that pricing
definitions can be varied from one service to another. Here, you may post your service(s)
under a set period of time, a job or even per unit. In post details form, you may also
specify whether your price is the minimum, fixed or negotiable.
4.6 What is "Post Expiry Date"?
"Post Expiry Date" is the end date of your post, you could set this date in advanced.
4.7 What is the advantage of filling out the
Post Specifics?
Though it is not mandatory for you to fill out the Post Specifics section, we still
strongly recommend you to do so. This is because the more information you fill in,
the higher the chances your Posts will be searched and be seen by others. Please
be as detailed and accurate as possible.
4.8 Can I preview the Post before it goes live?
Yes. You can preview it before publishing them.
4.9 Will I get a unique URL for my Post?
Once you have listed your Post in 88DB, you will receive a unique URL that looks
like this -- http://www.88DB.com/1234.html. This URL links directly to your Post
Details page.
4.10 How long will it take for the newly posted
Post to be shown on the list?
Your Post will go live and be listed instantaneously on the top of the
Category list which you have requested for.

5. Photo and Multimedia Management
5.1 Is there any charges to upload image and
multimedia content?
No, it is absolute free.
5.2 How many images can be uploaded into each
Post?
You may upload up to 6 images per Post.
5.3 What are the advantages of adding images
into a Post?
Images draw people’s attention. Adding an image will greatly increase your chance
of getting noticed as well as allowing others to get a better idea of what you are
offering or looking for. Members who upload images to accompany their Posts tend
to receive more replies than those who don't.
5.4 What types of image files can I upload?
Images must be in one of the following accepted formats: JPEG (.jpg or .jpeg) or GIF (.gif). Please keep the file size to 350KB or less.
5.5 What types of images are forbidden?
Photos, images or graphics that are protected by copyright and intellectual property
laws or contain abusive, nude, obscene, sexual or otherwise materials deemed offensive
to others are not permitted on 88DB.
5.6 How can I upload images to my Post?
Uploading images is easy. During the posting process:
1. In step 2, on the Post Details page, click on the “Add/Change Images” button
to open a pop-up window with the upload function.
2. Click "Browse" to select an image file on your computer and then click "Upload".
3. You can upload a maximum of 6 separate images for each Post. Repeat step (2)
as necessary.
4. Click “Done” to go back to the Post Details page.
5.7 How will my images be displayed?
Your primary image will be the main image shown on the Post while the rest of the
images will be displayed as thumbnails. A thumbnail of your primary image will show
up in search results.
5.8 How can I change images once they have
been uploaded?
To change your images, simply follow these steps:
1. Login to “My88DB”.
2. Click “My Posts” to find your list of Posts.
3. Click the “Edit” link to the right of the Post which you want to edit. This brings
up the Post Details form.
4. Click the “Add/Change Images” button to change your image(s).
5.9 How many video and audio clips can I post
for each Post?
You may post 1 video and 1 audio clip for each Post.
5.10 What types of video files can I upload?
Video files must be in one of the following accepted formats: AVI, WMV, MPG or MP4.
Please keep the file size to 3MB or less.
5.11 What types of audio files can I upload?
Audio files must be in one of the following accepted formats: WMA, MP3 or MP4. Please
keep the file size to 1MB or less.
5.12 How can I upload video/audio files to
my Post?
Upload audio/video files is easy. During the posting process:
1. In step 2, on the Post Details page, click on the “Add/Change Video” or “Add/Change
Audio” button to open a pop-up window with the upload function.
2. Click "Browse" to select a file on your computer, then click "Upload".
3. Click “Done” to go back to the Post Details page.
5.13 How long does it take for my video/audio
to be shown on my Post?
All video and audio files must first be reviewed before going live. You will receive
an email once your file has been verified. This whole process will take less than
48 hours.
5.14 What is the approval process for video/audio
content? What does Not Verified/Verified/Rejected mean?
The video or audio file which you have uploaded will first be in the pending status
called “Not Verified”. Once reviewed by the administrator, the status will be changed
to either “Verified” or “Rejected”.
Not Verified. Video/audio is currently not active online. Your file will be reviewed
within 48 hours.
Verified. The administrator has reviewed and approved your file. It is currently
displayed on your Post and visible to all users.
Rejected. The file has been rejected and will not appear for public viewing. You
will also receive a notification email explaining the reason for its rejection.
5.15 How can I check the approval status of
my video/audio?
Simply follow the following steps:
1. Log into “My88DB”.
2. Click “My Post” on the left panel.
3. You will find the status next to the video or audio icons for each Post.
5.16 Why aren’t my video/audio clips showing
up in Posts?
It is possible that your audio or video files may still be pending approval or were
rejected for some reasons. Log into “My88DB”
to check the status of your multimedia files.
5.17 Why are my video/audio files rejected?
This is because the file which you have uploaded did not comply with the 88DB Posting
Guidelines. Try to upload another file and resubmit.
5.18 How do I change my video/audio files
once they have been uploaded?
1. Log into “My88DB”.
2. Click “My Posts” to find your list of Posts.
3. Click on the link of the Post which you want to edit its multimedia content.
This will bring up the Post Details form.
4. To change your multimedia file, click the “Add/Change Video” or “Add/Change Audio”
button.
5.19 Could you help me to downsize my video
files?
Yes. For video files over 3MB, we can help to reduce the file size. However, please
note that we do NOT provide any form of editing service. Do contact us at (+852)

6. Searching & Browsing
6.1 How do I search for my Post?
There are two ways to find your Posts:
1. Browse the Category
to which your Post belongs
2. Search by keyword. The keyword can be the Post Title or any words that appear
in the Post Description.
6.2 Why doesn't my Post show up in a search?
Your Post may not show up for two different reasons. You can check all the following
status by logging into “My88DB”:
1. Your Post has been deactivated. If your Post has been deactivated, you will receive
an email explaining the reason. To republish your Post, please edit the content
and resubmit. However, members could only repost any Post once.
2. Your Post has expired. Check the status of your Post in the “My Post” section
by logging into “My88DB”.
Repost your Post to publish it again. It is FREE. However, members could only repost any Post once.
6.3 Do you have any search tips to optimize
the search results?
Here are some suggested guidelines to enable you to take full advantage of our search
engine and obtain better search results:
1. Use specific words. For instance, if you get too many results from "craft", you
might try "doll making” or “pottery”.
2. Broaden your search. If "Thai massage" yields too little results, try "massage"
3. Use shorter forms of words. For example, "teach" rather than "teaching" or "teacher".
Avoid numbers for ambiguous results.
4. Try browsing. If you're not sure which keywords to use, try browsing by
Category.
7. Post Management
7.1 How can I manage my Posts?
To view your posted Posts and edit their content, visit “My88DB”.
From the “My Posts” section, you can edit, delete and repost your Posts. You can
also see the post and expiry dates, number of views and number of messages left
by other members.
7.2 How do I edit my Post after I have published
it?
You can edit your Posts at any time. Simply follow these steps:
1. Log into “My88DB”
2. Click “My Posts” to find your list of Posts.
3. Click the “Edit” link on the right of the Post which you want to edit. This brings
up the Post Details form.
4. Make your changes and then click “Confirm & Submit” to finish.
7.3 What does Post status (Active, Rejected,
Expired, Inactive) mean?
The Post Status indicates whether your Post is currently running or not. From the
“My Post” section under “My88DB”,
you can find several status types that may be displayed in the Post Status column:
1. Active. Post is viewable to the general public and showing up in the search results.
2. Rejected. Post is not active. It has been deactivated because it does not comply
with the 88DB Post Posting Guidelines. To republish the Post, please edit the content
and resubmit.
3. Expired. Post has been removed from public view automatically upon expiration.
To reactivate your Post, simply repost it. It is FREE.
4. Inactive. Post is NOT viewable to the general public because you have not verified
your email address. Once you have gone through the verification process, your Post
status will instantly change to “Active”.
7.4 How will I know if my Post has been rejected?
If your Post has been rejected, you will receive an email explaining the reason.
Alternatively, do login to “My88DB”
and check the Post status from the “My Post” section.
7.5 Why was my Post rejected?
Posts may get deactivated if it violates any of the rules listed under 88DB Post
Posting Guidelines. 88DB also reserves the right to investigate the IP address,
Internet Service Provider, location and the identity of any offender.
7.6 Are there any charges to repost Posts?
No, it costs you nothing to repost your Post. However, members could only repost any Post once.
7.7 How many times can I repost a Post?
Members could only repost any Post once. The renewed Posts will go back to the top of the regarding list. To get extra quota, please click here to contact our Sales Department.
7.8 How do I repost my Post?
You can edit your Posts at any time. Simply follow these steps:
1. Log into “My88DB”
2. Click “My Posts” to find the list of Posts.
3. Click on the “Repost” link to the right of the Post which you want to edit. This
will bring up the Post Details form.
4. Adjust the Post expiration date in “Post Expires”.
5. Click “Confirm & Submit” to finish.
7.9 How do I delete a Post?
To edit a Post, simply follow these steps:
1. Log into “My88DB”
2. Click on “My Post” to find your list of Pposts.
3. Click on the “Delete” link to the right of the Ppost which you want to edit.
7.10 How can I track the popularity of my
Posts?
The “Views” column on “My Post” of
My88DB shows the number of times your Posts have been viewed by site visitors.
7.11Can you help me to create/edit/delete
my Post?
No, it is our policy not to modify any Post content on behalf of our members. This
is to maintain members' accountability for Post content.
However, we reserve the right to modify or deactivate posts that violate our Post
Posting Guidelines.
8. Communicating With Members
8.1 How do I respond to a Post?
To contact other members in order to respond to a Post, simply click on the "Respond
to this Post" link on the top of the Post or scroll down to the "Questions & Comments"
at the bottom of the page. Log in first if you are a member and then enter your
message. Finally, click on the "Submit" button to send your message directly on
the Post itself to the Post owner. If you are not an 88DB member, please register
here or see Question 8.3.
8.2 How can I contact a Member?
To contact other members, simply click on the "Contact Now" link on the Post Details
page to bring up the "Contact Member" form. Log in first if you are a member and
then enter your message. Finally, click on the "Submit" button to send your message
directly to the member.
8.3 I'm not a member yet. Can I contact a member?
Yes, you could scroll down to the "Questions & Comments" at the bottom of the page to leave your message to the Post owner. However, if you want to contact other members directly by "Contact Member" form or Instant Messenger, you have to register as members. If you are not an 88DB member, please register
here.
8.4 How do I enable instant messenger function?
Simply follow the following steps:
1. Log into "My88DB", click on "Edit Member Profile" on the left panel.
2. In the "Instant Messenger" field, fill out your Yahoo! ID, MSN Email Address, and QQ Account Number.
3. Click "Save Changes" to finish.
8.5 I've added in my MSN Email Address. However, my MSN online status doesn't work. Why is this so & what should I do?
Simply follow the following steps to enable the MSN online status:
1. Click here to log into Window Live Messenger.
2. At "Web setting", check the option "Allow websites to see your Messenger status and send me messages".
3. Click "Save" to save your options.
8.6 Will others be able to see my real name when I send out a message?
No. Users will only be able to see your 88DB display name or company name. Your surname and first name will never be revealed to anyone.
8.7 Will anyone who sends me messages be able
to view my email address?
No. Members replying to your Post cannot view your email address. If anyone wants
to contact you, they will either fill in the "Contact Member" page or the form at
the bottom of your Post. The message is then sent to you as a private message.
8.8 How can I be notified about messages I
receive?
You will receive all comments and messages via your registered email address. You
can also find the number of messages received in "My88DB".
The "My Message" column section in "Post Management"
My88DB shows this information.
8.9 Can I forward a Post to a friend?
Yes. You can send a particular Post to your friends by clicking on the "Email to
Friend" link shown at the top of the Post. Enter your friends' names and email addresses
and click "Submit" to send.
9. Member Profile
9.1 What is a Member Profile? Why should I
create one?
A profile is a great way to tell people more about you or your organization! Think
of it as a quick sketch of who you are or what service(s) you are offering. The
more you tell about yourself or your organization, the more likely that other members
with similar interests will come to you.
9.2 How do I create a Member Profile?
Simply follow these steps:
1. Log into “My88DB”
2. Click on “Edit Member Profile” on the left panel.
3. Upload your personal image or organization logo. This will be your profile photo
and can be seen by all members.
4. You may also upload up to 6 additional images, 1 video and 1 audio files to your
profile.
5. Check the "Shown to Public" boxes if you would like to display your contact numbers
and email address in your member profile.
6. In the “Description” section, briefly describe yourself or your organization.
7. Click “Submit” to finish.
9.3 What is a personal icon? Why should I upload
it?
A personal icon is an image representing yourself. It is also called an avatar.
This will be shown on your member profile and can be seen by all members.
9.4 How many multimedia files can I upload to my Member Profile?
Currently, you may upload up to 6 images, 1 video and 1 audio files in your Member Profile.
9.5 Do I have to fill out all the information in my Member Profile?
No, only fill out those information which you feel comfortable to reveal. However, we strongly advise you to complete your profile so that other members can get to know more about you. It also let you and other members to barter with Paypal.
9.6 How do I add Paypal Account to my Post?
You should register a Paypal account, and follow the following steps to add Paypal Account to your Post:
1. Log into "My88DB", Click on "Edit Member Profile".
2. In the "Paypal Account" field, fill out your Paypal email address.
3. Click "Save Change".
4. Check the option "Enable Paypal in this Ad" on Post Details form to finish.
Note: PayPal service is provided by PayPal, Inc. Before using the regarding service, you should read the user agreement on www.PayPal.com. 88DB.com provides the service to facilitate exchanges among users, and accepts no liability for any disputes that may arise from the transactions.
9.7 How do I update my Member Profile?
To edit your profile, follow these steps:
1. Log into "My88DB"
2. Click on "My Profile". You will be brought to your original profile.
3. Make your changes.
4. Click "Submit" to finish.
9.8 What information will be displayed to members
from my profile?
All fields except your email address and name (surname, first name) will be displayed
to the public.
9.9 How do I view a member's profile?
Click on the display name or company name on the Post to view the member's Profile.
10. Membership
10.1 Can I change my Email address?
Yes. However, please note that your Email address is your login ID. If you change
it, you will need to verify the new email address AGAIN.
10.2 I have changed my email address. Do I
need to register again?
No, you need not register again. You can simply go to "My88DB"
and change your Email address. An email will be sent to your new email address with
a verification link. Click on the verification link in the email to confirm your
new email address. So next time when you login to 88DB, remember to use your new
email address.
10.3 How do I subscribe to/unsubscribe from
88DB newsletter?
To change your subscription preferences, please follow these steps:
1. Log into "My88DB".
2. Click on "My Profile" and select "Edit Subscription Preference" on the left panel.
3. Make your change.
4. Click "Save Changes" to finish.
10.4 How do I change my password?
Follow these steps:
1. Log into "My88DB"
2. Click on "My Profile and select "Change Password" on the left panel.
3. Enter your current and new passwords.
4. Click "Change Password" to finish.
5. Your Password has been changed. Remember to use your new password when you log
in next time.
10.5 What should I do if I forget my password?
You can retrieve your password by clicking here and following the instructions. You need to enter your email address
which you have registered with us and your password will then be emailed to you.
10.6 Can I close my 88DB account?
Closing your account will PERMANENTLY REMOVE all of your information from 88DB,
including your Posts and member profile. This information cannot be restored. We
suggest that you leave your 88DB account active. However, if you really want to
close your account, do send us an email at [email protected].

12. Technical Issues
12.1 Which browsers does 88DB support?
We recommend Microsoft's Internet Explorer 5.0 (and up) or FireFox 1.5 (and up)
for best results. Earlier versions will not allow you to access all of the site’s
functionalities.
12.2 Can I login to my account on a different
computer?
Yes. Even if you are using a different computer, you can still login to your 88DB
account using your registered email address and password.
12.3 How and why does 88DB use cookies?
"Cookies" is a type of information stored on your hard drive via your web browser.
The "cookies" that 88DB uses do not track any personal data such as password, name
or email address. Cookies simply help us to identify your session and track your
activities on the site.
12.4 Where can I report bugs and errors?

When submitting bug reports, it is helpful if you could send as much information
as possible about your issue(s) and the URL of the webpage(s) where you found the
problem(s).

14. Map Function
14.1 What is the advantage of creating map for your Post?
Creating map enables users to search your Post and nearby relevant Posts more easily. On the Post Details page, users could easily view basic information including your location and contact information. Click and drag the map, the adjacent sections will be displayed immediately. Users could also zoom and pan the map to view the satellite image of their desired location.
14.2 How to create map in a Post?
You could create map at any time. Simply follow these steps:
1. Log into "My88DB", click on the "Post a Free Ad" button on the navigation bar
2. Select Category & Post Type (Offer or Want)
3. Enter Post Details
4. In Post Specific or Contact Information section, select the district and enter the address
5. Click on the "Create New Map", the Create Your Map page will be shown
6. In Search for an Address section, select the district and enter appropriate keywords (e.g. Building Name, Street Number & Street Name), then click "Search", regarding search results will appear in the left panel of the page and as the Markeron the map itself.
7. If the location of the Markeris wrong, click and drag the Marker to the desired location
8. Click on the "Confirm" button, and then click on the "Confirm & Submit" button to finish
14.3 How to edit map?
You could create map at any time. Simply follow these steps:
1. Log into "My88DB"
2. Click “My Posts” to find your list of Posts
3. Click the "Edit" link on the right of the Post which you want to edit
4. Click on the "Edit" buttonadjacent to the Saved Location Map section, this brings up the Create Your Map page
5. Click and drag the Markerto the desired location, then click on the "Confirm" button to return to the Post Details page
6. Click on the "Confirm & Submit" button to finish
14.4 How to delete my map?
1. Log into "My88DB"
2. Click "My Posts" to find your list of Posts
3. Click the “Edit” link on the right of the Post which you want to edit
4. Click on the "Delete" buttonadjacent to the Saved Location Map section
5. Click on the "Confirm & Submit" button to finish
14.5 How to search for an address in maps?
There are three ways to search for an address:
1. Select the appropriate district
2. Enter the Building Name
3. Enter the Street number and Street Name
Tips: Where possible, enter the building name, and search results will appear more accurately in the left panel of the page and as the Markeron the map itself.
14.6 How to navigate in maps on the Post?
You could double click the mouse or click on the “Enlarge the Map” button on the Post Details page, then use your mouse or navigation controls on maps for navigation.
Use a mouse
You could navigate (move your view) in two dimensions in the map with your mouse. Additionally, you could double right click the mouse to zoom in on a location, or double left click the mouse to zoom out.

You could follow below instructions to use the navigation controls on maps.
1. "Arrows" – Click the appropriate arrow buttons to move the view north, south, east or west. Click to return to your original view
2. "Zoom" - Click "+" to zoom in on the center of the map. Click "-" zoom out
3. "Zoom slider" – Drag the zoom slider up or down to zoom in or out incrementally
14.7 How to print maps?
You could print map at any time. Simply follow these steps:
1. Click on the "Enlarge the Map" button on the Post Details page
2. Click on the "Print Map" button on the Map page, and will bring up the Print Map page
3. You may add your note in the blank area under the map
4. Click on the "Print" button
14.8 How to search for nearby relevant Posts on maps?
Click on the “Search nearby relevant Ads” button on the Map page, and search results will be displayed.
14.9 How to stop showing the map in a Post?
1. Log into "My88DB"
2. Click "My Posts" to find your list of Posts
3. Click the “Edit” link on the right of the Post which you want to edit
4. Check the option "Disable Map Function" adjacent to the Saved Location Map section
5. Click on the "Confirm & Submit" button to finish
14.10 Can I create map for all Posts?
No, we only add map function to selective categories.
14.11 I found incorrect street information in maps. How could I get it updated?
The map information is provided by Google Maps. If you notice any wrong information, please report to us or Google Maps. To read the Terms of Service, please click here.
15. Purchase “Priority Listing"
15.1 What is “Priority Listing”?
“Priority Listing” is a value added paid service. It appears at the top of Free Posts, and you could select your plan by channels and plan period to meet your promotion needs.
15.2 What are the advantages of “Priority Listing”?
“Priority Listing” allows your Post to appear in the prime area on Sub-Category page. It could maximize the exposure of your Post.
- Superior Position:
Your Post will be listed atop Free Posts on its Sub-Category page to increase the click rate
- Outstanding Layout Design:
With Bold Text, larger thumbnail and eye-catchy background colour, showing in image mode or listing mode(except Service Recruitment), your Post could attract even more customers.

15.3 Why do I need to purchase “Priority Listing”?
“Priority Listing” allows your Post to appear at the top of Free Posts and prominently highlighted to increase the visibility of your entry. If you run out of Free Post Quota, you are required to purchase "Priority Listing".
15.4 What kinds of “Priority Listing” plans are available?
The price of the “Priority Listing” plan varies by Category, Sub-category and Plan period. You could choose a 30 to 360 days plan. For further details, please refer to the “Priority Listing” Price List.
15.5 How to purchase “Priority Listing”?
You could follow these steps to purchase “Priority Listing” when you are posting a Post:
1.Click on the “FREE Ad” button on the navigation bar
2.Select Category, Sub-category & Post Type (Offer or Want) to create your Post
3.Enter Post Details
- Enter the Post Title and Description
- Spice up your Post by uploading images and multimedia files
- Provide further information in Post specifics
- Enter your Contact Information to let others find you
- Create your Map (If applicable)
- Enter Keyword Tag
- Preview and confirm your Post
4. Select and purchase the Plan, then click on the “Confirm & Pay Online” button
5. Enter your credit card details on the “Pay Dollar” page and click on the “Submit” button
6. When the transaction is completed, your purchased Plan will be effective shortly. An order confirmation will also be emailed to you soon.
You could also purchase “Priority Listing” by upgrading your existing Posts:
1. Log into My88DB, click on “My Posts”, then select a Post and click on the “Upgrade Now” button
2. Select and purchase a Plan, then click on the “Confirm & Pay Online” button
3. Enter your credit card details on the “Pay Dollar” page and click on the “Submit” button
4. When the transaction is completed, your purchased plan will be effective shortly. An order confirmation will also be emailed to you soon.
15.6 How to pay for my “Priority Listing”?
Once you’ve chosen your “Priority Listing’ plan, you could make your credit card payment through “PayPal”. All payments are accepted in Hong Kong dollars only. If you want to know more about other Upgrade Plans, please contact our Sales Department at (852) 3565 4938 or [email protected].
15.7 How long will my “Priority Listing” last?
Your “Priority Listing” plan will expire in accordance to your purchased plan. You can log into My88DB and click on “My Posts” to check the expiry date.
15.8 Is there any administrative charge for “Priority Listing”? (No!)
There is no administrative charge. 88DB will only charge you the exact listed price.
15.9 I have purchased a “Priority Listing”, but my Post is not yet upgraded. Why is this so?
Please be patient as it might take some time for “Priority Listing” to be in effect. For enquiries, please contact our Customer Service Department at (852) 3565 4938 or [email protected].
15.10 Why isn’t my payment for “Priority Listing” successful?
It is possible that your payment has failed for the following reasons:
- You haven’t entered all required information
- You have entered wrong credit card information
- Your credit card is expired
- Your credit card limit has been exceeded
If you have cross-checked all the details, but the payment still fails, we suggest trying another credit card or contact the credit card company for assistance.
15.11 What should I do if my online payment has failed?
If your online payment has failed, please click on the "Confirm & Pay Online" button on the Pay Online page. When you go back to the PayPal page, enter your credit card information again to complete the transaction. 15.12 Can I request a refund after purchasing "Priority Listing"?
No. In accordance to our Sales Policy, once you have completed a transaction, it is not allowed to request a refund. Your purchased Plan will run until it is expired.
15.13 Can I terminate the “Priority Listing” prior to the Post expiry date and request a refund?
You could stop showing your “Priority Listing” by deleting your Post. However, in accordance to our Sales Policy, it is not allowed to request a refund.
Attention: Once you have deleted your Post, it could not be recovered even if your Plan period has not yet expired.
15.14 Can I change the category after launching my “Priority Listing”?
No. You are not allowed to change the category of the Post, as the price of “Priority Listing” plan varies by Category, Subcategory and plan period.
15.15 Will I receive any invoice after purchasing “Priority Listing”?
