流行音樂 can be classified according to places: African Music, African-American Music, Arab Music, Carnatic Music, Caribbean Music, Chinese Music, Greek Music, Hindustani Music, Indian Music, Indonesian Music, Islamic Music, Japanese Music, Jewish Music, and Latin American Music. According to kinds: POP, JAZZ, R&B, Classical, disco There are some new kinds of music emerging from developing world, e.g. Sundanese jaipongan (accompanied by gamelan ensembles) and Vietnamese vong co (theatre-derived music)—reflect no noticeable Western influence. But, noticeably, there are many music kinds.
