Hong Kong - Regional Technology Service Hub with Mr. Anthony Wong, Commissioner for Innovation and Technology Commission
The HKSAR Government has launched the Hong Kong R&D Centre Programme in April 2006 to help Hong Kong thrive as a regional technology service hub. Join AustCham's Technology Committee to join them and the Commissioner for Innovation and Technology who will share the latest developments of this programme. There will also be a focus on how Australian organisations can collaborate with and reap benefits from this initiative.
The seminar will also look at how to leverage on Hong Kong's advantages in applied research and IP protection.
Our speaker Mr. Wong S K, Anthony, Commissioner for Innovation and Technology, Innovation and Technology Commission, HKSARG, was recognised by his work on liberalization of the telecom services and facilities markets in Hong Kong. As well as this, he supported the development and promotion of the information infrastructure in Hong Kong and the convergence of the computing, broadcasting and telecommunications industries. Before taking up this role as a Commissioner, Mr. Wong was Director-General of Telecommunications and the Telecommunications Authority of Hong Kong. In 2001, he was the chairman of the World Telecommunication Policy Forum, the Annual Global Symposium for Regulators. In 2002, he chaired the Policy and Legal Committee of the Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunications Union.
