          The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj, which means "to unite".  On a physical level, yoga is an ancient science that enables us to create a lifestyle of physical and mental well-being.  In a subtle sense, it is a philosophy of life that ultimately leads us on a path to spiritual enlightenment.

Hatha Yoga provides a means of cultivating wisdom through physical movements of the body called asanas. A hatha yoga practice encourages an internal focus to promote flexibility, detoxification and an awareness of the natural flow of energy that resides in our body.  This natural energy is unlocked through yoga asanas and maintains the vitality that keeps us youthful and well spirited.  In our modern fast paced, high-stress environment, a consistent yoga practice has become an indispensable part of many peoples' lives as a way to alleviate physical and mental ailments of a stressful lifestyle.  The following are some of the benefits of a consistent yoga practice.
