Sun Wah Pearl Linux Training and Development Centre: Sun Wah Pearl Linux Training and Development Centre (SWP) was jointly established by The Sun Wah Hi-Tech Group (SWHT) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University at the end of 2000. The centre, which began with offering Linux open source operating system support, had developed into a centre that provides a wide variety of computer-related technical certificate programmes and specialized master programmes.
After analysis, the centre relocated in 2005, determined to make proper use of technical resources in the centre in contribution to consolidate the position of Hong Kong as an international financial centre for the long term, with special emphasis on the development of technological researches on information security, computer forensics and forensic accounting. The centre began to expand its cooperation with relevant technology providers from around the world in 2005, to introduce high-end computer forensic equipment from the United States, Britain, Germany, Israel, Russia and other countries to Hong Kong. Moreover, the centre started to cooperate with the prestigious University of Glamorgan in UK to introduce unique master programmes to Hong Kong, including MSc Computer Systems Security , MSc Computer Forensics and MSc Forensic Audit and Accounting . So far, Sun Wah Pearl Linux Training and Development Centre is still the only provider of these high-end and unique master programmes in Hong Kong.
