In the Suzuki Method, students learn music in a simple and easy way similar to the way they learn to speak. Dr. Suzuki encourages exposure to great music from birth as an essential part of the home environment.
Suzuki Method (very popular in Canada & USA) an excellent method for young children. Lots of melodic folk songs are used to develop their basic musical sense: beat, rhythm and melody. Motor skills, cognitive thinking, knowledge will eventually be enhanced. This method will also stimulate and cultivate their multi-intelligences at a very early age and enhance their enjoyment of music.
Kodaly Method (very popular in Canada, US, Australia and England) – an organized, step-by-step approach program that helps a child to develop the pitch sense and to learn different kinds of rhythmic notes and patterns. A strong sense of beat and rhythm will also be developed in the child. The use of the solfege system and handsign will enhance the child’s ability to sing with correct tones. This method encourages the child to play with different instruments and games in class, which will motivate his/her love of music and lays the foundation of enjoying playing with any kinds of instruments in the future. Carl Orff method is an innovative method (famous in Canada & US), aimed at motivating a child’s enjoyment and love of music. Through body movement, playing different instruments, and singing songs, the child will develop the skills of singing, playing percussive and melodic instruments, and maximizing his/her creativity and improvisation skills (www.orffcanada.ca)
