The Benefits of Learning Public Speaking
Everybody may need to speak in front of a group of people to express opinions, feelings or rights, to inform or to report, etc. Teaching children public speaking skills at an early age can equip them to do these more competently. Hong Kong students are usually lacking of an English speaking environment and thus unconfident when speaking in English. Public speaking drilling is a very practical method to enhance oral communication and organization skills. A child with outstanding communication skills is usually successful in all walks of life. The child can pass interviews more easily and go to a better secondary school. The child can also make friends with people of other nationalities and therefore possess a wider global scope.
The Objectives
- The SpeechKids Program aims at training children to express their ideas in English fluently through making short speeches.
- We believe all students are able to succeed at their own pace. Nobody is a failure.
- We motivate students to learn through self-fulfillment, continuous encouragement with lots of fun.
- We create a supportive learning environment through encouragement from the trainers, school teachers, parents and among fellow students themselves.
- We help students establish positive attitudes, sound judgments and good values in the process of learning.
The Course Content
Our syllabus includes prepared speeches, impromptu speeches, short stories, picture descriptions, role-plays, group discussions and evaluations. We guide students how to prepare speech scripts. We help them with presentation skills including the use of vocal variety, pronunciation & enunciation, intonation, rhythm and pacing.We show them non-verbal speech delivering skills, like eye contact and gesture, and strategies for building self-confidence and overcoming stage ****ht.
SpeechKids Education Program TM
The SpeechKids program is composed of six levels. A certificate and a badge will be rewarded after a student has passed an examination at the end of each level. The student is then promoted to the next level.

About Us
A.T. Speech Learning Institute was founded by Mr. Alfred Tse, a renowned speaker and public speaking trainer. He has once been the former Division Governor of Toastmasters International, adjudicator of the Hong Kong Speech Festival, 1st runner-up of the Pan S.E. Asia Speech Contest and host of a T.V. Speech Program. In 2005, he launched the SpeechKids Education Program. So far, about 2500 children have been trained through this program. All trainers are outstanding speakers.
