Examination preparation
UK Boarding Schools
We are experienced in preparing students for the Common Entry Examinations at 11+/13+ and the more specific examinations for entry into top British boarding schools, including: Eton, Charterhouse, Cheltenham Ladies College, Dulwich College, Harrow, Sevenoaks, Winchester, Wycombe Abbey and all other UK schools.
Interviews & orientation
We provide guidance on the pre-selection process and mock interviews with critical instruction to optimise your child’s opportunity to enter a school of choice. We also offer invigilation services subject to formal requests.
Higher examination
We are equally experienced in preparing students for their higher examinations and general school studies including: GCSE, IGCSE, A Levels, IB Primary Year Programme (PYP), IB Middle Year Programme (MYP) & IB Diploma, HKCEE, HKALE, SSAT, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS.
University applications
We provide assistance on completion of those all important personal statements for University application. Fees charged at an hourly rate.
Advancement studies
Our parents often ask for us to advance their child’s studies in particular subjects. We facilitate this by nurturing a positive, encouraging learning environment, providing specialised knowledge and emphasising good study habits, personal discipline & hard work.
Getting started
First Contact
Contact us to discuss needs and objectives and arrange a schedule. The first session will be used to assess and identify a child’s needs. There will be no charge for the assessment unless we are asked to conduct a formal assessment without the intentions of a regular schedule, in which case hourly rates apply.
Please note that students returning from overseas to study for the summer and other holidays are not assessed. Instead their formal school report is used to identify needs.
Progress Reports
We report regularly on students?progress and you are always welcome to request a meeting with your child’s teacher to discuss progress and readdress objectives. Meetings must be arranged by prior appointment, if not requested during your child’s session.
Our Teaching Staff
All Alpha Academy teachers are required to have earned their university degree from a reputable university and many hold second or higher degrees and/or additional teaching qualifications. They are specialised in the subject areas they teach and conversant with the syllabi of local and international education systems in Hong Kong, and those in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia. They are able to provide professional advice on issues relating to your educational objectives for your child.
