About EDGE
Located in a quiet setting amidst the bustle of Causeway Bay, EDGE Gallery aims at encouraging interaction and communication. We play the role of linking and establishing a space from semi-commercial to cultural exhibitions. We show monthly exhibitions and participate in art events for our contemporary and experimental paintings, sculptures, prints, photography, mixed-media and installation pieces, all by prominent and emerging artists from Hong Kong. China and overseas. EDGE, in some cases, can be a place of danger. However, it can also be a place of potential and possibilities, especially when we are part of a mass of intricately interlocking subsystems. It is clear that if an individual in the system is allowed to have freedom to explore different possibilites, everyone will benefit in terms of co-evolution. One could think of Art as a kind of cultural DNA. Every time it undergoes mutation, it takes a step from its current incarnation to a new one.
EDGE Philosophy
One could think of Art and Architecture as a kind of cultural DNA. Every time it undergoes a mutation which takes a step from its current incarnation to a new one. If the system is so static and without latitude, all one can do is to learn how to perform the hob and nothing else. However, it’s clear that if anindividual in the system is allowed to have freedom to explore different possibilities, then everyone will benefit in terms of co-evolution. EDGE, in some cases, can be a place of danger. However, it can be a place of potential and possibilities, especially when we are part of a mass of intricately interlocking subsystems. EDGE is the “edge of chaos” with metabolic rates of all speeds adjusting and re-adjuting to keep it poised on the edge of stability and chaos in the dynamic and fast changing world.
