The HKCC aims to maintain the standard of cardiovascular practice, and works towards improving the heart health of Hong Kong people. The HKCC regularly organizes scientific meetings and courses on cardiology for its members and the medical profession. Notably, an Annual Scientific Congress to allow exchange of experience between fellows, trainees and overseas visitors of repute in the field of cardiovascular medicine is held in March/April every year.
Initiator: International Chinese Heart Health Network
The International Chinese Heart Health Network (ICHHN) was established in 1994, with its secretariat office situated in Hong Kong. Founding members include Beijing, Singapore, Taipei, Vancouver and Toronto. Other cities with a significant Chinese presence will be invited to become members. Its aim is to promote not only the heart health of the people of Hong Kong but also that of Chinese and in fact all the people throughout the world. The Jump Rope for Heart Program was introduced to Hong Kong from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. & Yukon via ICHHN.

  Objectives
In recent years, the prevalence of coronary heart disease in Hong Kong is still on the rise. It is worrying that doctors are nowadays seeing younger patients with heart disease. This is related to unhealthy lifestyle such as poor eating habits, obesity, smoking and lack of physical exercise. In order to disseminate the heart health message to our young generation and encourage them to do regular exercise, a fun-filled dynamic program, called "Jump Rope for Heart Program" (JRFH), was launched in October 1999, with the staunch support from the Education Department and the Department of Health.
  Our Mission
To motivate our young generation to adopt a heart healthy lifestyle through exercise, thus reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke.
  Contents
The Jump Rope for Heart Program is composed of 4 parts: (i) Teaching Skipping Skills
