WHY STUDY SPANISH?
Spanish is the second most natively spoken language in the world after Mandarin, Chinese. It is used commonly in Europe, United States and all across Latin America. It is estimated that the combined total number of Spanish speakers is between 470 and 500 million, making it the third most spoken language by total number of speakers.
Spanish is the official language in over twenty countries and widely used in business settings and international political meetings. It is estimated that about 12% of the world population would speak Spanish in the following 20 years. Thus, Spanish would definitely become one of the most frequently used languages in the world.
西班牙語是世界上第二常使用的母語（第一為普通話），更是世界第三大語言，在歐洲、美國及拉丁美洲等地均受廣泛使用。現時使用西班牙語的人口約高達５億， 西班牙語不單是二十多個國家的官方語言，更是國際溝通的主要語言之一，於聯合國、歐洲聯盟及非洲聯盟等多世界組織中普及使用。估計於未來二十年，全球將會 有超過１２％人口應用西班牙語。
現時西班牙語是香港八大院校入學認可的外語科目，亦是新學制中學文憑考試科目之一。提早學習西班牙語，加強小朋友的競爭及適應能力，絕對有助他們升讀本地 或海外學府。長遠而言，學習西班牙語不但可以幫助孩童發展多元智能，更能提升人際相處技巧，為日後融入國際社會奠定良好基礎。
TEACHING METHODS?
Teachers from The Columbus Culture and Language Centre believe in learning by doing, allowing the students to discover and explore by themselves. Our approach is to provide a language program that addresses the intellectual needs of the developing child through age-appropriate curriculum. Teachers will assist the children as well as adults by integrating multiple tools, such as games, songs, drama, dance and other exercises into the study of the Spanish language and culture. The Columbus Culture and Language Centre strives to enrich our students in a healthy and enjoyable manner.
We provide certification and we also care about the interactive part of learning, we care about being able to use the language, expressing our feelings, communicating effectively, studying in a pressure-free environment. Our teaching method will not only allow students to speak the Spanish language fluently but also feel the hospitality of our center.
At Columbus, you don't have to worry about deadlines. Our best interest is to provide a flexible, stress-free setting for students to have a good time learning. Yes, we will have the Regular Spanish Classes and we will surely prepare you for the official examinations. On the other hand, we also make the examinations optional for those who are strictly verbal learners.
At Columbus, the students are the teachers too. Here, we believe in learning from each other. It is a place for the teachers to learn about your Chinese language, culture and mostly importantly, to learn about you - because in here, we care.
