RI.by.CARRIE is a printed-oriented label which prides itself in narrative, fashion patterns.Crafted, drawn, collaged – both by hand and computer, RI.by.CARRIE's narrative print journey originated in East London. The label's founder Carrie Hare honed her skills at Alexander McQueen's print section as well as London-based Boudicca. Her textile print works, presented in the form of a short film The Fourth Course, was showcased at the Brick Lane Gallery. It was commended by fashion writer Diane Pernet and was also part of the East End Film Festival. Her other fashion narrative film Refraction was in competition at the Shaded View on Fashion Film in Paris and was shown to an international audience at the Centre Pompidou. While working for Boudicca in London, she drafted her first printed legwear series and tested the market at the city's weekend market. The first legwear series Accidental Collage first kicked off in October 2011 and had won over 10 outlets in just half a year. It won attention with its body-engineered, slimming lines and its story-telling elements such as secret oriental garden, diamond in jungle and geisha.qilin. The East-West blended journey continues with a limited edition, capsule clothing collection Origami Rhapsody inspired by Japanese origami, unicorn as well as Western houndstooth and toile du jouy pattern Together with her London-based artists, RI.by.CARRIE will continue its spirit through legwear, clothing as well as other fashion items.
